What is Gliding Space | TTC?
Gliding Space practice integrates the profound dance languages of Flying Low (FL), Passing Through (PT), Contact Improvisation (CI), Release Technique (RT), movement coordination of Somatics and Forsythe Improvisation Technologies (FIT) together with spiritual and healing modalities of Yoga, Qigong, Thai & Abdominal Massage, Craniosacral, meditation as well as philosophies of Buddhism, Hinduism and Taoism.
Gliding Space | Teacher Training Course is a 1 full month intensive course that aims to train new inspiring teachers who can develop and enhance the dance industry in the 21st Century. The main focal point in the GS practice is the holistic integration of diverse disciplines and modalities so as to offer a greater embodied and integrative practice in body, mind, heart and spirit. Gliding Space is a practice that can be taught and shared in community centers, studios, schools, universities, academies, and other educational institutions.
The course is specifically designed for the dance artists who wish to discover dance artistry as a holistic dance and healing practice and contribute in the well-being of all dancers and educators.

To offer the best practice and experience we have devised two GS TTC levels: foundations and advanced.
Level 1 | Foundations: We will focus the content of the course on the Soma; Body, Mind, Heart and Spirit with a special focus on the Body & Mind, Embodiment & Performance for a coherent embodied experience and on the behaviours of Exploration and Orientation.
Level 2 | Advanced: We will focus the content of the course on the Soma; Body, Mind, Heart and Spirit with a special focus on the Heart & Spirit, Intention & Intuition for a coherent Mindful experience and on the behaviours of Rejection and Incorporation.
In each level, to have a greater embodied and spiritual transformations, we will focus on energy work from different Eastern disciplines as well as on specific behavioral patterns. After completion of both levels, you can choose to delve deeper into the practice to join an Advanced Teachers Training Course | Embodied Unity, the complete Dance and Healing philosophy developed by Vangelis Legakis; further integrating Chinese Medicine and the TCM meridians, as well as advanced methodologies in dance, healing, leadership and space holding for healing processes.
When and where is the next GS | TTC?
GS | TTC LV1 2022 will take place at the InvernaderoDanza studio in Oaxaca City, from 04 – 29 October 2022. The course is intensive working full days and having 1-2 days off per week.
All the participants will need to be responsible stay at an accommodation they will choose by themselves and the organisation is not responsible to find an accommodation for you, however we will be able to guide you where to look for to find a reasonable priced accommodation and also near the studio / resort. There is also the option to stay at the resort at a discounted cost, however this will be decided and arranged later when we will have all the exact details.
What does the GS | TTC consists of?
The course will focus on theoretical principles of the Gliding Space and the practical training methods by integrating the practices of Flying Low & Passing Through, Release Technique, Contact Improvisation, Breathwork, Yoga, Qigong, Thai Massage and Craniosacral to achieve a wholesome experience of the Gliding Space dance practice.
The participants of the course will learn, in a great extend (depending on their level of taking in and learning the course material), how to embodied and integrate those practices to be able to teach a basic Gliding Space class. When the participants dancers have a good level of experience, can progress and develop at the GS | TTC Level 2 where they will be able to experience a deeper practice and integration in all modalities.
A NOTE FOR ALL:
Learning an intense and complicated integration of practices over a month is never enough. Each participant / dancer is also responsible for their personal research and development and deeper understanding of the practice for being able to share, transmit and teach Gliding Space in the best possible way. Unity Space and Vangelis Legakis will be occasionally invite participants / dancers who have good standards in the practice for being assistants in future GS | TTC courses. Eventually, Van and Unity Space, aim to create a strong team of teachers to spread Gliding Space – Dance and Healing Practice to different studios, academies, universities, institutions as well as in community centers to open the practice to all people from diverse professional backgrounds.
Am I eligible to participate to this course?
This course is open for dance artists who have had good dance experience and education and good knowledge and practice in dance. You are required to have at least one year of dance education or strong dance background outside tertiary dance education.
During the course, you will pass through a thorough and deep physical and analytical understanding of the principles of the Gliding Space and be able to convincingly incorporate this in your own dancing and dance teaching. Towards the end of the course, we will have a final evaluation session for each artist, which you will be asked to demonstrate your understanding and knowledge of the practice by teaching 2 hours Gliding Space class shared by other 3-4 participants.
How many participants will be admitted to the GS | TTC?
To ensure the quality of the course, we only accept maximum 16 participants for each course.
If I successfully complete the GS | TTC, do I receive a certificate?
Yes, you will receive an official certificate (digital and hard copy) after you have graduated from the course. After you become a Gliding Space certified teacher, and after further evaluation in terms of our professional relationship with Unity Space and Van, we will include your personal profile on GS Teacher database page on our website, where aspiring students can find the GS teachers across the world.
If it is appropriate, we will also provide an additional support to promote and share your upcoming GS classes on our website event calendar as well as on our facebook and Instagram pages if you wish.
A NOTE: Being certified does not mean you will be included in our database and website, this depends on different factors which we will discuss at the opening circle when we start the course.
When will I become certified?
To become a certified GS teacher, attending all the dates and classes during the course period is required. At the end of the GS | TTC, participants should have a good understanding of practical and theoretical aspects of Gliding Space and should be able to embodied and demonstrate the knowledge through the final evaluation teaching sessions. They also should be able to pro-actively apply Gliding Space theory and practice in their own dance practice. If these conditions are met and if the participants is able to confidently structure, build, teach and lead a basic Gliding Space class, the participants will graduate and receive an official Gliding Space Teacher Certification from the founder, Vangelis Legakis under the organization Unity Space Global Ltd.
What does participation in the GS | TTC Cost?
The total investment is:
1700 Euro
1500 Euro for students and concessions.
500 Euros non-refundable deposit is due upon acceptance of the application and rest of the payment will be due on the dates stated on the invitation letter. The payment plans available arranged individually with the organization.
For the students and concessions rates, we will ask you to provide a proof of valid documents.
