REHABILITATION SOMATICS | MASSAGE & INJURY PREVENTION
Somatics & Rehabilitation for dancers
Dance is a beautiful art-form both for dancers and audience to experience with the souls. Dance may look effortless, but it requires a lot of strength, flexibility and stamina. It also comes with a high risk of injuries. Studies show that the common injuries for dancers are muscle and joints overuse injuries, including hips, knees, foot and ankles, as well as Lower back and shoulders injuries.
This 3-day Somatics & Rehabilitation workshop is designed for dancers to equip themselves with tools for injury prevention and post-injury selfcare & rehabilitation. Sarah will introduce a holistic view on the body and mind with fascial approach based on traditional Chinese medicine modal (acupuncture and meridian) as well as evident-based modern physiology, neuroscience, biomechanics, exercise science, imagery and pilates practice.
Day 1 – Body Scanning & Mapping, Movement Assessment, The Footwork
Day 2 – The Pelvic Work, The Hand Work
Day 3 – The Spine Work, Integrative Exercise & “First Aid” tools, Q&A Session
Sarah will be teaching for the PADHA program in October in Bali under the ISA | TTC and also during EPW | IFE Festival in KL.
