Paul Blackman

Following graduation from the regarded West Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2002, Paul was accepted as one of the first apprentice’s under guidance of Simon Dow and performed with the West Australian Ballet. He then joined Buzz Dance Theatre in 2004 with Felicity Bott, where he toured regional and interstate Australia performing and working within remote aboriginal communities. By 2006 he was working in N.Y.C with Battery Dance Company under Jonathan Hollander and also became a member of the Israeli U.K. based choreographer and associate artist of Sadlers Well’s Jasmin Vardimon’s Company, where he toured many memorable works internationally.

This same year he was awarded ‘Best Male Dancer’ in the Ausdance Awards (AUS) and also nominated for the prestigious Helpmann Awards. Later in 2007 he was again awarded ‘Best Male Performer’ by Article19 (UK). In 2010 Paul was selected to participate in the ’50Days’ workshop lead by Master ‘David Zambrano’. Since then he has been extensively training and performing in both ‘Flying Low’ & ‘PassingThrough’ techniques. Recently he has been freelancing and working with various companies throughout Europe such as the formidable ‘Rootlessroot’ company, touring their most resent work up until 2015.

 

Christine Gouzelis

Christine graduated from the National School of Dance in Athens, Greece. She has since performed with many international productions, working alongside several renowned artists and companies such as – Jasmin Vardimon (UK), David Zambrano (BXL) and The Hellenic Dance Company (GR) where she performed in works of, Wim Vandekeybus (BXL), Rootlessroot (GR), Anton Lachky (BXL), Martin Lawrence (UK), Pascal Rioult (NYC).

Selected for the ImPulsTanz – DanceWEB scholarship in 2004 and in 2010 received full scholarship from the Onassis Foundation towards the ’50days’ project with David Zambrano in Costa Rica. As a professional Christine has toured the United States, Australia, Asia, Scandinavia and Europe collaborating, performing and leading professional seminars and educational workshops internationally at various institutions.

She is also a senior lecturer at the National School of Dance in Athens. Christine was also the rehearsal director for both Jasmin Vardimons production ‘Freedom’ and for Anton Lachky’s and Athina Vahlas productions for the Hellenic Dance Company. Currently she is the Artist in Residency at the Hong Kong Performing Arts Academy.
